The Women Economic Empowerment Group (WEEG) is a women-led initiative committed to advancing the economic participation, leadership, and financial independence of women and vulnerable groups. We exist to create pathways that enable women to build sustainable livelihoods, grow enterprises, and access meaningful economic opportunities that improve their families and communities.
WEEG serves as a collaborative platform that brings together women from diverse backgrounds to strengthen economic inclusion, skills development, entrepreneurship, and leadership. Our work is grounded in the belief that empowering women economically is one of the most effective ways to drive inclusive growth and long-term community transformation.
The Women Economic Empowerment Group was formed in response to the persistent economic barriers faced by women and vulnerable groups across Southern Africa. Recognising the gap between potential and opportunity, WEEG was established to provide practical support, capacity building, and advocacy aimed at strengthening women’s economic participation.
From its inception, WEEG has focused on combining knowledge with action. Rather than offering theory alone, we prioritise real-world opportunities that enable women to start, grow, and sustain enterprises, access financial systems, and take on leadership roles within their communities. Over time, our initiatives have evolved to address emerging economic challenges while remaining rooted in inclusivity, collaboration, and sustainable impact.
A society where women are economically empowered, financially independent, and active contributors to inclusive economic growth.
To empower women and vulnerable groups through skills development, enterprise support, financial literacy, and strategic partnerships that unlock sustainable economic opportunities.
